Monaco Aide et Présence, les Amis du Liban and l'AMADE join forces to save the school Frères Saint-Joseph in Beirut.

On 4 August 2020, two deadly explosions hit Beirut, killing more than 190 people and injuring nearly 6,500, sowing desolation among a population already severely affected by the economic, political and social crisis that Lebanon is currently going through.

Monaco Aide et Présence, les Amis du Liban and l'AMADE decided to join forces in order to give new life to the school Frères Saint-Joseph, founded in 1966, located in the Ashrafieh district, which provides schooling to children from different backgrounds, from kindergarten to the final year of secondary school.

The 3 associations have set the objective of mobilising €180,000, the budget needed to rehabilitate the school, strengthen the educational team and cover the school fees of the most vulnerable children over a period of 3 years. As a historical partner of Monaco Aide et Présence and l’AMADE, and at the request of Monaco Aide et Présence, CFM Indosuez wishes to contribute to this operation and support the rehabilitation of the school with a donation of €15,000.

This operation complements the mobilisation launched by les Amis du Liban the day after the explosions, a mobilisation which, thanks to the generosity of the Monegasque population and residents and the support of its partners (Monaco Aide et Présence, AMADE, the International Cooperation Department, the Monegasque Red Cross, AS Monacoeur, the Monegasque Maritime Office, Mercedeh-Shoes...), has made it possible to send 5 containers of humanitarian aid to the disaster-stricken families to date. This aid package (medicine, food, furniture...) amounts to more than 170,000 €. At the moment, a mission is taking place on the spot to receive the last three containers and to launch the first emergency arrangements within the school.

For 1€ per day, i.e. 30 € per month, offer the possibility to a child of the school Frères Saint-Joseph to return to school.

To support this great project, donations will be centralised by l’AMADE, and you can send them by cheque to :
